Great Lakes Swimmers – Your Rocky Spine

Great Lake Swimmers – Your Rocky Spine – Lincoln Hall, Chicago October 28, 2009 from Sam Prus on Vimeo.

I first got into Great Lake Swimmers with their first album.  How can you resist an album recorded in a grain silo.  You can hear the crickets outside!  As you can tell I am diametrically opposed to autotone.  But I digress.  I hadn’t hear anything from them before I bought the album on E-Music.  It turned out to be a great find, and they fit well in the ears while traipsing around the southwest of Wisconsin in the summer.  Fast forward to now, and they seem to be everywhere, but I bet you still haven’t heard of them.  If you watch the show ‘Weeds’ you might recognize this <spoiler> from the end of the episode where U-Turn dies </spoiler>.  Which is odd, since this song has nothing to do with the events in the scene.  I have no idea why they chose this song for the end, but whatevs.  Enjoy this live version recorded at Lincoln Hall here in Chicago.  Recorded on my trusty Canon SD700 Elph. Audio was touched up a bit, and video given a little filtering.  Nothing fancy.  As always, render time took longer than anything else in the process.
